You wouldn’t necessarily think that fast foods, if you watch what you eat, would be something that would possibly contribute to a person being diabetic would you? Well remember all that information that came out about Trans fat in all the fast food restaurants? It seems there is a lot more to this idea than was originally thought by most of us.

An experiment was done in which they took two sets of monkeys and fed them approximately the some number of calories, the same amount of fried foods; only one set was fed fried foods equivalent to that which has been used in fast food restaurants.

Even though the monkeys, basically, ate the same diet. The set that had had consumed more trans fat in their diet after six years; the animals that were eating like they were eating fast food had gained 7.2% of their body weight and it was all in the belly. The animals they were not given any trans fat had only gained 1.8%; and of course we all know that with age a small amount of weight gain is normal.

Gaining weight in the belly is one of the signs of diabetes, but in addition they began to be resistant insulin. Gaining weight in the belly is not only a path to possible diabetes but heart disease as well. So it probably is not a good idea to consume food with Trans fat, especially if you have diabetes run in your family.

Diabetes is a condition that really needs to be managed closely to maintain your health. Diabetes when poorly managed can lead to all sorts of horrible side effects and conditions so as a diabetic you need to be really in tune with your body and the food you put in your body. If properly managed then you can live a very normal life with diabetes and so this will require a lot of research and proactive action on your part and this will result in much higher quality of life for you. To manage diabetes properly you should research a diabetic diet that can work for you and can keep your blood sugar intact. If your blood sugar goes out of balance then you will have severe diabetes symptoms. You can also take many other steps to keep your diabetes under control. This can involve other general healthy living principles such as working out and watching overall calorie counts. Given the level of medical attention you need you will need to be incredibly proactive with your own medical care. This will help keep you healthy and help reduce your own medical bills. Make use of online resources and support groups to help you learn a routine that can work for you.
